Summary
Connecticut's 2025 SB 2, An Act Concerning Artificial Intelligence, would have set requirements for AI systems, including disclosure of AI use to consumers, and created state AI programs. Late Senate amendments weakened earlier impact-assessment and anti-discrimination duties. It passed the Senate on May 14, 2025, but House Speaker Matt Ritter did not call it for a House vote after Governor Lamont threatened a veto, the second year running that this happened. It did not become law.
