Summary

Egypt's second National AI Strategy, for 2025-2030, was launched in January 2025 under the National Council for Artificial Intelligence and the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology. It is built on six pillars (governance, technology, data, infrastructure, ecosystem and talent) and sets targets including an ICT-sector contribution of 7.7% of GDP, 30,000 AI professionals and more than 250 AI companies by 2030. It also calls for a comprehensive AI regulatory system. Egypt adopted a Charter for Responsible AI in 2023 as national ethical guidance.
